Deep Space Sparkle was born from a simple belief:

Art teachers deserve to be well-resourced and supported.

Teaching Art 101 is where this all began. This was the first course that I created back in 2012 to answer the questions I was seeing from art teachers every day — which paint works best for kinders vs sixth graders, how to manage an art room with mixed abilities, what to do when the lesson falls apart, and how do you plan out a year in the art room. 

Because as art educators we’re often handed the keys, a class list, and left to figure out the rest.

Since then, we’ve built a community of 140,000+ art teachers, refined what actually works in real classrooms, and professionalized the kind of support that simply didn't exist when many of us started teaching.
